Hot Isostatic Press (HIP)
Hot Isostatic Pressing: Wallex® powder is processed at high temperatures under high vacuum to form pore free bars or tubes with a fine grain homogeneous structure that enhances the physical properties of the cast alloy. Complex shapes can be machined from the bars or tubes to produce high integrity components. Typical applications include components used in the aerospace, nuclear and F1 industries.
The weight range is between 0.1 kg and 100 kg. Typical bar sizes are 20-100mm diameter up to 600mm long. Components can be supplied proof machined or finish machined to customer requirements.
Alloys produced by HIP process exhibit properties that are comparable to the same alloy produced by the wrought process.
