Vacuum Brazing

High temperature vacuum brazing is used to join high value components together.  Braze filler metals, such as Nicrobraz® developed and manufactured by Wall Colmonoy, are applied in either a paste or powder form to the parts to be joined and then the assembly is placed in a vacuum furnace.  At temperatures around 1100 ^oC the braze filler metal melts and flows into the small gap between the parts. The braze filler metal bonds to the surface of the part via a capillary action and then solidifies on cooling to form a solid high strength joint.

Vacuum Brazing processes are used in the manufacture of new parts or to repair worn or damaged parts.
